
Cal Pac Selects Players of the Week for March 18
The following California Pacific Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the conference Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 11-17:
BASEBALL
Player of the Week
Jack Fitzgerald of Benedictine Mesa had a big weekend, helping the Redhawks take two out of three from Park-Gilbert. The senior from South Riding, Va., went 6-for-14 at the plate, scoring twice and driving home seven runs. He added two doubles and a home run to lead the offense.

Chris Gonzalez of Providence Christian turned in a strong seven inning effort against La Sierra, leading to the Sea Beggars first Cal Pac win of the season. The freshman lefty from Covina, Calif., held the Golden Eagles to six hits, six strikeouts, and one earned run during his stint.

SOFTBALL
Player of the Week
Saint Katherine's Ashlie Alshouse played a big role in the Firebirds' two-game sweep of Benedictine Mesa. The junior utility player from Ramona, Calif., finished with five hits in seven trips to the plate, scoring twice, and driving home two.

Pitcher of the Week
Vanessa Brink of Embry-Riddle gets the nod again after firing a one-hitter in the Eagles' 8-0 win over Simpson. The junior from Vail, Ariz., was in control when weather shortened the game in the 6th inning, but by then Brink allowed one hit while fanning eight.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Attacker of the Week
Dapre Rogers of Benedictine Mesa is recognized again after leading the Redhawks to two Cal Pac wins, one over No. 14 Westcliff. The senior opposite from Tempe, Ariz., knocked down 65 kills in three matches last week, hitting at a .410 clip. He added 34 digs, six block assists, and four service aces.

Setter of the Week
Gehrig Tolman of Benedictine Mesa filled up the stat sheet last week. The sophomore out of Gilbert, Ariz., directed the offense with 111 assists, averaging 10.1 per set, and added seven kills and three aces. Defensively, he contributed 16 digs and was in on four blocks.

Defender of the Week
Simpson's Jacob Shelton was instrumental in the Red Hawks going 1-1 in Cal Pac action last week. The freshman middle blocker from Clovis, Calif., finished with four solo blocks and six block assists, as well as six digs with no reception errors. He also added 10 kills on the offensive side.
