In the regular season finale, the Bobcats held Westcliff to just 44 points on 32 percent shooting and forced 19 turnovers. BASEBALL

Westcliff first baseman Jack Varney has been an offensive catalyst in the Warriors solid start to the season. In 19 games, the junior from Mercer Island, Wash., is .371 batting .371, and nine of his hits have been for extra bases—including six that have cleared the fences. He has scored 19 runs while driving in 17, and he has been walked 16 times to give him an impressive .512 on base percentage.

The junior hurler from Santee, Calif., opened the doubleheader with a no-hitter in which the only imperfection was three Warrior errors in an otherwise perfect outing. Mendez, who boasts a 1.27 earned run average, continued that momentum into the second game, tossing the first two innings of what would be a perfect game by three WU pitchers.
