WU Claims Regular Season Crown

The regular season is completed and only a couple of non-conference matches remain, leaving only three teams trying and unseat defending California Pacific Conference tournament champion Westcliff.  The Warriors, ranked No. 14 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 15 Poll, rolled through their conference schedule without a loss and concluded the regular season with an exclamation point by defeating UC Merced and Simpson—both postseason qualifiers.  Top-seeded WU will open the Cal Pac Championship semifinal round with a 2:00 pm match against #4 seed Pacific Union, followed by the second semi at 5:00 pm pitting #2 UC Merced—the defending regular season champion—and #3 Simpson.

The semifinal winners face off on Saturday, April 12, in the championship match with the winner receiving the conference's automatic berth to the NAIA national tournament.

The 12-team NAIA National Championship takes place April 29-May 3 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, opening with pool play matches at regional sites. The top team in each pool advances to semifinal play on May 2 with the championship match on May 3.
